Canyoning is possibly the fastest growing year-round adventure sport within the North Coast Hinterland of New South Wales. It’s not hard to see why, as the world heritage rainforest and stunning cliff lined valleys are breathtaking places to go waterfall abseiling and gorge walking.
Due to the region’s mild winters and warm summers it’s the perfect place to go canyoning at any time of year. Canyoning on the North Coast involves swimming and waterfall abseiling, as well as a variety of other activities including jumping into pools ('waterjumps'), wading, bushwalking, rock climbing and rock scrambling.
All equipment is provided including backpacks, dry bags, abseiling equipment, wetsuits, as well as lunch. All NPWS entry fee are also included.
The canyons of the NSW North Coast are different to those of the Blue Mountains sandstones. They are more open and rarely bushfire impacted. They are sometimes described as being more like the canyons of the Kanangra Walls Area, but with much greater amounts of rainforest vegetation.
